Growing by Giving

La Pasadera, meaning “Stepping Stone” in Spanish, is a program created by Farm Fresh Direct to positively impact the lives of our employees, their dependents, and the communities where they live. Often, people just need help taking the first step before they can take off and do great things. This program focuses on community involvement and the health and well-being of the agricultural labor workforce.

Our goal is to create opportunities for our workers and their families—opportunities that may not come their way otherwise. Here are some of the ways we’ve been able to help:

    Sponsor Agricultural Events

    Annual Scholarships

    Tuition Assistance

    Emergency Assistance

    Networking with other Agencies

    Partnerships within the Community

    Appreciation Dinners

    Recreation

    Vision Program

The FarmLink Project

As one of the early contributors to the FarmLink Project, Farm Fresh Direct is proud to stand alongside other leading growers and packers across the country in the fight against food waste and hunger. In 2024 alone, we donated over one million pounds of potatoes to this initiative. FarmLink helps connect our surplus produce to food banks across America, ensuring it reaches those who need it most.

As a grower-owned company, we are natural stewards of the land. Food is the number one material found in landfills, and for every 10 pounds of food produced, 4 pounds are wasted. This wasted food represents not only lost nutrition—but also wasted packaging, energy, transportation, labor, land, and water.
