3 S Ranch
Since 1918, 3 S Farms has been proudly growing premium potatoes in the heart of the San Luis Valley. Founded by Monte and Jared Smith’s great-grandfather on just 160 acres, the family has carried forward a deep-rooted legacy of hard work, innovation, and care for the land. Today, they specialize in producing high-quality Russet and Yellow potatoes with a strong focus on sustainability—implementing fuel-efficient tractors, water-saving irrigation systems, and resource-reducing practices that protect the environment for future generations. Their mission is simple yet powerful: to feed people while preserving the land that makes it possible. In 1999, Jerry Smith, a member of the Smith family, became a founding partner of Farm Fresh Direct, helping unite small family farms to ensure consistent quality, expand potato supply, and connect consumers worldwide with potatoes grown by families like theirs.
Anaiak Farms
Nestled in the heart of Center, Colorado, Anaiak Farms is driven by one simple passion—producing the freshest, highest-quality potatoes possible. For John and Jausiar, potato farming is both a craft and a calling, one they continuously refine through innovation and efficiency. From reducing fuel use and fertilizer to conserving water and other precious resources, every decision on the farm is made with care for both quality and sustainability. The roots of Anaiak Farms trace back to John’s father, a Spanish sheepherder who came to the United States in the 1960s chasing the American dream—to feed people and become one of the best producers in the nation. Today, Farm Fresh Direct represents over 25% of the San Luis Valley’s total potato production and partners with grower-owned farms across the western United States. We proudly supply retailers of all sizes throughout North America, Canada, and South America. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do—from nurturing our land to investing in resource-efficient technology—because we believe our greatest responsibility is helping the next generation of potato farmers thrive.
